Animal Care Resource Guide for 4-H and FFA Members

Animal Documents, Records, and Tests Needed Prior to Fairs and Exhibitions

Youth exhibitors need to complete a variety of records before attending fairs and exhibitions. The chart provided in this NebGuide will help them prepare the correct records for their animals. This is No. 5 in a series of five resource guides.

As a youth exhibitor it may be confusing and overwhelming to know which tests, documents, and records you need to have done and take with you to county and state fairs and other exhibitions. The chart below is a guide you can use to ensure that you have not forgotten to prepare an important test or record. These guidelines are applicable for county fairs, Nebraska State Fair, and Aksarben requirements. Always check with your local extension office to ensure you have all the required documents and tests completed prior to the exhibition. Note: If you will be traveling out of state for exhibitions, check that state’s requirements too.
